Slider: Ice Warrior Challenge

Slider: Ice Warrior Challenge follows the incredible story of ex-soldier and Paralympic Powerlifter Micky Yule, as he becomes the first double-amputee to take on the sport of Skeleton and compete against the reigning World Champ, Martin Dukurs, down the fastest track on the planet.

With a highly engineered purpose-built sled, and jet rockets to launch him off the start, Micky would need to learn every inch of his route to the bottom. We were commissioned to produce a 3D build of Whistler’s famous sliding track, to visualise ever corner of the fastest track in the world.

Process

Using Cinema 4D together with digital elevation data and georeferencing, we were able to generate an accurate representation of the 3D landscape of the area as a base, before modelling the 1,450m long track, site buildings and additional details at a high enough level of detail to allow us to get in tight to every corner.
